Gaize Launches Automated Compliance Monitoring Solution

When test administrators conduct tests on the Gaize VR headset, they’ve always been able to follow along with what test is being given using the Gaize mobile app. This has been found to be extremely useful when test subjects have questions or concerns about the testing process. The test administrator can quickly and easily tell what’s happening in the headset and help the test subject complete the test successfully.

What about when a test subject intentionally tries to defeat the test?

Law enforcement officers have had a particular concern with how they can ensure that test subjects are complying with the test instructions. This could be a case of maliciously not doing the tests properly, or in the case of extreme impairment, a test subject may be unable to complete the tests. It’s a waste of everyone’s time and a loss of high quality evidence to discover that a test subject was intentionally trying to ruin the test video, or corrupt the test data, after the test is complete. Because of this, one of the most requested features has been the ability to know when a test subject is complying with the instructions.

Test subject compliance monitoring is now live.

Today, Gaize launched the ability to detect a non-compliant test subject in real-time, as the test is being conducted. Non-compliance can include any of a broad variety of behaviors, including:

  • Not following the test stimulus (or inability to track the test stimulus), including looking in a random direction as the test proceeds.

  • Abnormal blinking characteristics

  • Holding the eyes closed, or holding one eye closed (winking)

Test administrators will receive a notification on their Gaize application immediately upon the VR app discovering the non-compliant behavior. The notifications can be dismissed and the test can be continued or stopped, at the test administrator’s discretion.

Current Gaize customers can access this feature by powering on their Gaize headset and ensuring it’s connected to the internet. The headset will automatically download and install the update. Please also ensure that your mobile app is up to date by clicking the update notification on your device. Note, most mobile apps will automatically update, so you may not see an update notification.
